Efficacy and mechanisms of virtual reality treatment of phantom leg pain
Brief description of study
Some amputee experience "phantom limb" (PL), a persistent feeling of the missing limb, which is often associated with experience pain (PLP). We will contrast the efficacy of two virtual reality treatments: a Distractor treatment, consisting in a virtual reality (VR) experience that does not require leg movement, and an Active VR treatment, where subjects play a series of VR games using the virtual rendering of both legs.
