Parasympathetic Augmentation via Respiratory Training for Patients with Systolic Heart Failure

Parasympathetic Augmentation via Respiratory Training for Patients with Systolic Heart Failure

Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of breath training on patients with systolic heart failure. The study evaluates patients and incorporates the use of smart phone technology for breath training at baseline and at three and six months, using the 6-minute walk test, a standard heart failure assessment tool that evaluates aerobic and functional capacity.

Detailed description of study

If you participate in this breathing study, the research team will collect information about you and your condition while you also use a smart phone to learn breath training. You will also come into the heart failure clinic for a total of 3 visits to perform a 6 minute walk test.
