GeoScan fMRI Smoking Research Study (NOT A QUIT SMOKING STUDY)
Brief description of study
Please note: This is NOT a quit smoking study.
The purpose of the study is to learn more about the relationships between the brain, behavior, and natural daily exposure to specific retail environments, including places where you regularly spend time and specific retail outlets. The study involves three appointments over about six weeks. Two of these appointments will involve being in an MRI machine.
Detailed description of study
You may be eligible if you...
- Are between 18-65 years old
- Smoke cigarettes daily
- Own an iPhone or Android smartphone
- Are right-handed
- Are not claustrophobic
- Are not pregnant
- Plan to be in the Philadelphia metro area (including NJ & DE) for 3 months
What will participants do?
- The study involves three in-person appointments over about six weeks
- Two of these appointments will involve being in an MRI machine
- You may be asked to visit certain locations and make purchases with study-provided funds
Benefits
- You can be compensated up to $600 for participation.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Smoking,Cigarette Smoking,Healthy Volunteers

Age: Between 18 Years - 65 Years

Gender: All
- Must smoke cigarettes daily
- Own an iPhone or Android smartphone
- Are right-handed
- Are not claustrophobic
- Are not pregnant
- Plan to be in the Philadelphia area (including NJ and DE) for the next 3 months
