Evaluation of in vivo Neuroinflammation Using 18F-NOS (PET/CT) in HIV Positive and Negative Subjects with Opioid Use Disorder and Healthy Controls

Study Overview
Study Purpose: The goal of this study is to learn more about how opiate use and HIV affects inflammation in the brain. We will study this using a type of Positron Emission Tomography (PET/CT) scan using a radioactive imaging drug called 18F-NOS that can be used to measure inflammation in the brain.
Procedures: If you agree to join the study, you will be asked to complete the following research procedures:
- 18F-NOS PET/CT of the brain
- Placement of an arterial catheter to perform blood draws during the scan
- Blood draw for measurement of research inflammatory markers or other testing
- Brain MRI scan if you have not had one within 1 year that is up to study standards
- Study Identifier: 842717
