EXPLORATORY PILOT STUDY TO DISCOVER GENES THAT RESTORE THE MOLECULAR CIRCADIAN RHYTHM

EXPLORATORY PILOT STUDY TO DISCOVER GENES THAT RESTORE THE MOLECULAR CIRCADIAN RHYTHM

Brief description of study

The main purpose of this study is to see if blood serum collected from healthy young volunteers has a different effect on biorhythms measured in cells in a glass dish than serum collected from healthy older volunteers.
You are being invited to participate in a research study because you have been selected as one of 20 young volunteers or one of 20 elderly volunteers. We wish to compare the differences between the age group by using cultured cells obtained from blood samples.

Detailed description of study

This study consists of 3 Phases: The Screening Phase consent is for those volunteers who fit into the (younger group) 20-35 years old and (older group) ages 70-85 will be asked to come for the screening Phase. The screening visit will take approximately 2-3
hours to complete.

A second consent called The Replication Phase 1, of this study consists of 2 additional visits. The Visit 1 and Visit 2 will take approximately 2 weeks to complete.

A third consent called The Exploratory Phase 2, will take an additional 2 weeks. Only up to 4 elderly participants from the Replication Phase will be selected for The Exploratory or Phase 2 Study lasting approximately 4 months with an addition of 2 more visits.

*Please note this study is specifically seeking volunteers between 20-35 years and 70-85 years old.
