A Randomized Controled Trial of Transcutaneous Magnetic Stimulation of the Stellate Ganglion to Treat Ventricular Tachycardia Storm
Brief description of study
Two arm, randomized controlled trial with sham therapy control arm to assess the efficacy of low-frequency trans-cutaneous magnetic stimulation of the autonomic nerves in the neck for patients with ventricular arrhythmia. Twenty two (22) subjects with a high burden of ventricular arrhythmia will be randomized to undergo 60-minutes of low frequency trans-cutaneous magnetic stimulation or 60-minutes of sham stimulation using a device that is approved by the FDA for stimulation of peripheral nerves. Arrhythmia burden will be monitored after a single session of stimulation.
