Binge Eating and Neural Treatment Outcomes (BENTO) Study

Brief description of study

Are you looking for help with binge eating? If so, then you may be interested in volunteering in a research study that is evaluating how brain function changes during cognitive behavioral treatment for binge eating disorder. The study provides an evaluation and 16 weeks of treatment.

Detailed description of study

In this study, participants will be randomized to either a 16-week, one-on-one, cognitive behavioral therapy intervention or to a wait-list control. Both groups will have functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scans at baseline and after 16-weeks. Study participants must be: -Female between 18-45 years of age -Overweight -Have binge eating disorder -Right handed Research procedures (no cost) for qualified participants include: -4-month cognitive behavioral treatment -Study-related medical examinations -Two fMRI brain scans -Compensation up to $280

    Eating Disorders,Bulimia,Obesity,Binge eating
  • Age: Between 18 Years - 45 Years
  • Gender: Female
