Legionella Pneumonia's Effect on Olfactory Function

Brief description of study

The goal of this study is to determine whether those who have had Legionnaires' disease suffer smell loss.

Detailed description of study

The study is straightforward. A quantitative olfactory test will be performed by the participants, as described in detail blow. Such testing will require approximately 20-30 minutes of the participants time. The participants will take the University of Pennsylvania Smell Identification Test (UPSIT), a scratch-and-sniff test to assess their ability to identify odors in a forced-choice format. Participants will also complete a questionnaire.
Additional Information
The testing and questionnaire will be mailed and completed in the comfort of the participant's home.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Legionellosis, Legionnaire's disease
  • Age: Between 18 Years - 99 Years
  • Gender: All
