Vasculitis Clinical Research Consortium Tissue Repository Protocol: 5511

Vasculitis Clinical Research Consortium Tissue Repository Protocol: 5511

Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to collect existing tissue specimens from subjects enrolled in Vasculitis Clinical Research Consortium (VCRC) studies. The study is being done to identify genes that increase the risk of developing vasculitis. Vasculitis is the swelling or inflammation of your blood vessels. It causes your blood vessels to change by thickening, weakening, narrowing, or scarring. The research team hopes that this study will develop information about vasculitis that will allow researchers to learn about the causes, the disease process and potential treatments for vasculitis.

Detailed description of study

Patients who were or are already enrolled in another VCRC observational/longitudinal protocol (5502, 5503, 5504, 5505, 5506, 5507, 5563) and/or one of the VCRC interventional studies (5522, 5523, 5526, 5527, or 5562) are eligible for this study. There is 1 visit for this study. The VCRC conducts a series of research projects that collect clinical data, including longitudinal, observational and clinical trials of therapies. A total of 1000 participants with giant cell arteritis (GCA), Takayasus arteritis (TAK), polyarteritis nodosa (PAN), granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegeners) (GPA), microscopic polyangiitis (MPA), eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA/Churg-Strauss), cutaneous vasculitis, and aortitis are potentially eligible for the VCRC Tissue Repository Collection Protocol.
