Cystic Fibrosis' response to incretin hormone treatment
Brief Description Of Study
This study investigates how the CF population with impaired glucose tolerance responds to acute treatment with incretin hormones.
Detailed Study Description
The study involves four visits: a screening visits, a Mixed Meal Tolerance Test (MMTT), and two Glucose Potentiated Arginine Tests (GPA). The screening visits will consist of routine blood work, as well as an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT), however a recent OGTT may also be used to meet inclusion criteria. The MMTT Visit consists of the participant eating a standardized meal in order to evaluate how the participant's hormone levels react to a standard meal. The GPA Test Visits consist of infusions of dextrose, arginine, and incretin hormone in order to evaluate how the participant's metabolism is aided by incretin hormones.
