Sleep SMART: Sleep for Stroke Management And Recovery Trial

Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to determine whether treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) with positive airway pressure starting shortly after acute ischemic stroke or high risk TIA reduces recurrent stroke, acute coronary syndrome, and all-cause mortality 6 months after the event, and improves stroke outcomes at 3 months in patients who experienced an ischemic stroke.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Ischemic Stroke,Sleep Apnea,Obstructive Sleep Apnea,TIA
  • Age: Between 18 Years - 99 Years
  • Gender: All

Male or Female, Age 18 or older, TIA with ABCD2 ≥4 or ischemic stroke, within the prior 14 days.
