BLESS I: Botulinum Toxin Treatment of Glabellar Lines
Brief description of study
The BLESS I is a clinical trial to study the effectiveness and safety of Botulinum toxin A in the treatment of glabellar lines (frown lines) in comparison to sterile saline. Glabellar lines are the vertical lines between the eyebrows. These glabellar frown lines often become more prominent with age and can project negative emotions unintentionally or make a person appear older.
Detailed description of study
Patients will be in the study for up to 62 weeks and receive up to four injections. The first injection has a 3:1 chance of being Botulinum toxin and 1:3 chance of being sterile saline. The following three injections will be guaranteed to be Botulinum toxin. Subjects will be eligible for retreatment as early as 12 weeks from the previous injection.
